Meet the crew at Deep Blue.

Over the coming months we will learn something about the members of the Deep Blue team. Starting with Deep Blue’s founder and owner Deborah Felixson.

Originally from Medellin, Colombia. After winning a tennis scholarship Deborah moved to Austin, Texas where she went on to study architecture at The University of Texas.

In 1993 she came to Cozumel for the first time to dive and fell in love with the island. For the next two years she came back regularly to dive and finally made the move here in 1995.

Initially Deborah worked as an architect however the business where she was employed closed 6 months later. It was then that Deborah decided to open a dive shop and that was the birth of Deep Blue.

Deep Blue has been a PADI facility since 1995 and its mission is to offer all computer diving with small fast boats, excellent rental gear and top quality instruction.

Of course Deborah has a vast knowledge of diving all the wonderful reefs of Cozumel but her two favourite reefs to dive are Colombia Deep and Santa Rosa Wall mainly because of the huge pinnacle formations and incredible swimthroughs.

In her scarce spare time Deborah enjoys swimming and backgammon and also found the time to become a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.

She is proud mum to son Nick, who will be off to college soon and three precious dogs.

Photography Competition

Batman Returns

November saw the return of one of Deep Blue’s favourite instructor’s Sandro AKA Batman.

Sandro returned to work after undergoing successful sinus surgery.
